Hendrix and U2 guitars sell at charity auction
's red 1966 Fender Mustang has fetched $400,000 in a charity auction, according to Reuters.
The guitar sold on Saturday (April 21) at New York's Hard Rock Cafe and was part of a number of music-related items being auctioned by Music Rising, the charity formed by
's The Edge to benefit musicians who lost their homes and instruments in 2005's Hurricane Katrina.

's round, blue-tinted sunglasses (fetching $30,000), former US president Bill Clinton's saxophone ($54,000) and The Edge's Gibson Les Paul - one of his favourite guitars and used on numerous recordings - which went for $240,000.
But Edge's longtime guitar tech, Dallas Schoo, said he was sorry to see his boss' Les Paul go as it was a staple guitar for concerts: "whenever Bono yells that he wants to go into free form," Schoo said, "that has always been my go-to guitar" [to hand to The Edge].
