Happy Iron Maiden Day!
Sister mag Metal Hammer has decided that today (21st April) is official Iron Maiden Day and while we reckon that every day should be so adorned, the reason is that Iron Maiden: Flight 666, the rockumentary behind the band´s recently-completed Somewhere Back in Time Tour is in UK cinemas on general release. It also hits 42 countries in super digital for just one night...
However, we´re celebrating in our own style, because the brand new Iron Maiden signature guitars and bass have finally landed. They comprise Jackson Adrian Smith San Dimas Dinky, Fender Dave Murray Stratocaster, and Steve Harris Precision bass and they absolutely fuggin' rock!
They'll be reviewed in our July issue, which will be on sale 9th June 2009.
Bardders with the three IM guitars. Nice horns, mate...
The film is ace, and you can check the trailer here...

“Maybe I’m writing a song and it doesn’t follow the exact rules of songwriting. Or maybe this word doesn’t make sense next to this one, but that’s how I speak”: Beabadoobee says that “missteps” are more important than perfection in songwriting
“It’s been road-tested, dropped on its head, kicked around, x-rayed, strummed, chicken-picked, and arpeggio swept!” Fender and Chris Shiflett team up for signature Cleaver Telecaster Deluxe
Simon Bradley is a guitar and especially rock guitar expert who worked for Guitarist magazine and has in the past contributed to world-leading music and guitar titles like MusicRadar (obviously), Guitarist, Guitar World and Louder. What he doesn't know about Brian May's playing and, especially, the Red Special, isn't worth knowing.
