Carlos Santana And Buddy Guy Jam At Experience PRS 2009
The annual PRS Experience open-house event in Stevensville, Maryland, got off to a star-studded start on Thursday night. Just as the assembled crowd - including Guitarist of course - was being wowed by Carlos Santana, up steps blues legend Buddy Guy!
Introduced by an understandably jubilant Paul Reed Smith, Santana was playing his PRS signature model, and also a special edition SE guitar through his Dumble, Bludotone and PRS amplifiers. We managed to grab a quick chat with Santana´s tech Ed Adair, more of which in an upcoming edition of Guitarist.
Buddy Guy joined Santana on stage playing a newly released, white PRS 305 model through a PRS Blue Sierra amplifier, to the collective surprise of everybody present.
We´ll bring you more as the event unfolds - stars including David Grissom, Johnny Hiland, Howard Leese, Stephen Wilson of Porcupine Tree and plenty more are milling about, so we hope to grab at least some of them in a room with a video camera to bring you some playing fun.
Grissom, for example, is making amazing noises with the new Sweet 16 amplifier. We´ll also bring you new guitar news of course, including a whole bunch of 25th Anniversary models for 2010, a new Swamp Ash Special with newly designed mini humbuckers and whole new selection of Ted McCarty models with Santana-style headstocks.
