It´s a been a long, long time coming, but we´ve finally got our hands on FXpansion´s DCAM Synth Squad soft synth suite. The package includes three synths: Amber, Cypher, and Strobe, plus a shell called Fusor which can layer up to three synths along with insert effects for each one.
Today we´ve been getting to grips Strobe, which is a virtual analogue synth with unison detune, multi-mode filter, analogue control for a more “unstable and distressed” sound, and a selection of sub oscillators.
But how does it sound? Well, here are some audio clips recorded from three of the synth´s presets, but for more than that you´ll have to wait for our full review! We´ll look at another of DCAM´s synths tomorrow.
Note: if these clips don't play correctly right click them and select "Save As" to save the file to your hard drive.
