U2's No Line On The Horizon is just hitting stores now, as in right now. But apparently the band has another set of tunes all ready to go - and they don't want you to wait to hear them.
According to the New York Times, a companion album to 'Horizon' could very well be released later this year.
Comprised of material drawn from the same recording sessions, the as-yet-untitled CD will have a "more meditative and processional tone" than 'Horizon.'
In the four and a half years since 2004's How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, U2 have been active in the studio, in fits and starts, including an unfinished project with noted producer Rick Rubin. The band's plan for a companion disc to 'Horizon' expanded from an initial concept to release two EPs.

“It didn’t even represent what we were doing. Even the guitar solo has no business being in that song”: Gwen Stefani on the No Doubt song that “changed everything” after it became their biggest hit

Joe is a freelance journalist who has, over the past few decades, interviewed hundreds of guitarists for Guitar World, Guitar Player, MusicRadar and Classic Rock. He is also a former editor of Guitar World, contributing writer for Guitar Aficionado and VP of A&R for Island Records. He’s an enthusiastic guitarist, but he’s nowhere near the likes of the people he interviews. Surprisingly, his skills are more suited to the drums. If you need a drummer for your Beatles tribute band, look him up.
