The Killers plan covers album
Will Cyndi Lauper cover make the cut?
According to drummer Ronnie Vannucci, The Killers are planning to record an album of cover versions for the follow-up to last year's Day And Age.
Vannucci told Q that he has acquired some new "on-the-road" recording equipment enabling them to record while touring. Each band member gets to pick three tunes to cover, with Vannucci opting for Rod Stewart's Young Turks and tracks by Tom Waits and Genesis.
The killers have already covered Dire Straits' Romeo And Juliet and Joy Division's Shadowplay for the Closer (frontman Ian Curtis's biopic) soundtrack, so it's safe to say we can expect an eclectic mix.
Oh, and how could we forget Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. Seriously…
